Lamb Friday

As usual the children are very matter of fact, while Tim and I are most affected.  Lamb Friday died in the night.  He wasn’t very interested in his night time feed and this morning the children thought he was asleep.  But I thought he was too still.  Ever since Jazz died, I haven’t handled finding animals dead very well.  So I left the verdict to the children to determine whether Lamb Friday was still breathing or not.

He wasn’t!

What did we do wrong?  I don’t know, if anything.  Maybe we were all too much of a shock for his little system.  Death is a very real part of life and I need to learn to be like the children and much more matter of fact about it.
